For the Public Library of Amsterdam (OBA), IF Creation & Realisation led the creative development, production, and implementation of The First Floor a 1,200 m² experimental learning and innovation space within the central library.
The initiative marked a new phase in OBA’s evolution: transforming the library from a traditional knowledge repository into a living, open platform for technology, creativity, and civic engagement.
Developed in close collaboration with OBA’s internal teams, HappyKamping (concept), B+O Group (architecture), and partners such as Waag, Pakhuis de Zwijger, and the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, The First Floor was conceived as a “city workshop”: a flexible space where Amsterdammers could explore new skills, ideas, and digital innovation.
